Preserving Our Craft
Decorative lighting is one of the manufactured products in which hand- craftsmanship continues to play a significant role. Although modern technology contributes to the craft, many traditional tools and procedures are still valid today.
We incorporate a wide variety of craft techniques in our products including lost wax casting, hand glass blowing, silver soldering and metal spinning, with the new technologies of computer-controlled laser cutting, electronic ballasts, and LEDs.
Our firm has been passed from father to son, and from craftsman to apprentice. We emphasize the value of preserving the knowledge of our craft and passing it along to the next generation.
Our Apprenticeship Program for local students focuses on hand skills. As skilled craft workers are becoming increasingly scarce, Crenshaw Lighting seeks to foster the growth of this valuable resource in the community.
