Lighting Fixture Restoration
Every historic fixture we touch is special. We often deal with lights that are prime examples of a particular style or craftsman and therefore irreplaceable. Every historic fixture has a story and is an integral part of the space and the community that it illuminates.
We have wide ranging experience working with clients to determine the scope and nature of restoration required on a particular project. Our studio is well suited to giving the careful personal attention to detail that is required in the restoration process.
Mechanical
Returning the fixture body and decorative elements of a historic fixture to its restored state ranges from re-creating and replacing missing parts, to welding, soldering and brazing, to straightening and re-aligning components.
Electrical
Restoring historic fixtures typically includes replacing all electrical parts including sockets, connectors, fasteners, and wiring to NRTL (UL/CSA) standards, and labeling as required. Lamping upgrades are often a part of the restoration process, providing the possibility of improved lighting levels and efficiency.
Finishes
Restoration of a fixture's finish can range from a simple soap and water cleaning to completely stripping a fixture and repainting or refinishing the base metal.
