Belmont University Performing Arts Center

Production of several fixture types is well underway for the Belmont University project. This project includes the fabrication of custom multi- and single-tiered brass ring chandeliers as well as custom sconces for their new performing arts center. The largest of the chandeliers, which were installed earlier this month, are over 30 feet tall and approximately 2,000 pounds!

Projects Honored with 2020 Palladio Awards

Two recent projects that we had the pleasure to be a part of were awarded 2020 Palladio Awards. The Dickies Arena (David M. Schwarz Architects Inc.) in Fort Worth, TX won for New Design & Construction—more than 30,000 square feet, while the Cincinnati Union Terminal (John G. Waite Associates, Architects and GBBN) won for Restoration and Renovation.

We were in Minneapolis/Saint Paul recently and had a chance to see some of our work installed in the beautifully renovated Minnesota State Capitol. Once fixtures leave our shop floor, we don’t often get to see the finished product installed in person. So when we have to the opportunity to visit a space with our work present, we jump on it!

Summer 2018 Shop Update

With over 700 fixtures being either restored or re-created, the Wyoming State Capitol Building project is in full swing at the Crenshaw shops. We were awarded this exceptional project and challenged to not only replicate some of the fixtures but to also restore and retrofit them for LED lights, increasing efficiency and performance while keeping the aesthetics historically accurate.

April 2018 Shop Update

We were honored with the opportunity to recreate this pendant for the FEMA campus in Emmitsburg, MD. As the original fixture was hand-made of plaster in 1891, the replication process posed some unique challenges and extreme care was taken to avoid further degradation of the original material. The original components were carefully disassembled and painstakingly repaired before being used to create molds for all new cast resin components…
