This beautiful ornate bowl chandelier was restored for the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Federal Courthouse (2012). It is constructed of high-quality solid cast brass with many fine details. The lenses are custom frosted ivory glass tapered shades and individually slumped ivory glass bowl lens panels. Updated compact fluorescent lamping was engineered and fine-tuned for even illumination in the wide shallow bowl. Screwbase lampholders were chosen for the perimeter heads to retain the original aesthetic. A self-ballasted compact fluorescent B lamp was specified, and Crenshaw listed the fixture for this lamping combination. The finish was restored to a beautiful warm custom satin patina.
