This large, ornate bowl arm chandelier was part of an award-winning installation for the Virginia State Capitol Restoration in 2006. It was specified for historical accuracy in keeping with the Capitol’s original Jeffersonian design. Acanthus leaves, dogwood flowers (the Virginia state flower), and Greek key patterns custom designed and cast for the project. Hand cut open top clear frosted glass upper lenses, with hand-wheel engraved dogwood motif. Closed white opal glass globe bottom lenses. Finishes to replicate historic finishes were achieved in a rough textured aged bronze with hand-relieved highlights.
