Somerville Borough Hall, Somerville, NJ
Architect: HMR Architects
Award: Historic Preservation New Jersey 2015
A black aged patina finish emphasizes the Drumcliff Bowl Pendant’s Gothic style, in keeping with the gargoyle-lined arched ceiling and other Gothic features in the space.
HMR Architects selected our Drumcliff Bowl Pendant to create a focal point for Somerville Borough Hall’s newly restored ceiling and specified an unusual black aged patina on solid brass for the finish. The lenses are amber opal glass, and compact fluorescent lamping was selected for energy efficiency and ease of maintenance. When traditional lighting effects are sought with compact fluorescence, warm lenses such as amber opal glass are often chosen to balance the cool hues of the updated lamping. This project won a Historic Restoration New Jersey Award in March 2015.
