FEMA Campus, Emmitsburg, MD – Replication and Restoration
We were honored with the opportunity to recreate this pendant for the FEMA campus in Emmitsburg, MD. As the original fixture was hand-made of plaster in 1891, the replication process posed some unique challenges and extreme care was taken to avoid further degradation of the original material. The original components were carefully disassembled and painstakingly repaired before being used to create molds for all new cast resin components.

The replication fixture was also upgraded to integral LED lamping to provide the space with a brighter, longer-lasting, more energy-efficient light. In addition to this fixture, we restored and upgraded the lamping in four smaller plaster pendants, and restored one and replicated four plaster wall sconces for this project.
