The decorative lighting designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects for the Mason School of Business was conceived with enduring quality and timeless style in mind. Crenshaw provided nearly twenty types, 190 fixtures in all, for the project. The fabrication and design details serve as a showcase for our craftsmen’s metalwork skills. All of the fixtures are constructed of solid, heavy-gauge brass. Machined elements are found throughout, and all are finished in our hand-applied dark oil-rubbed bronze patina finish. The bowl pendants are particularly lovely. Rather than the typical single acrylic bowl construction, each lens is composed of individually segmented hand-leaded amber opal glass. Equally noteworthy are the two-arm sconces featuring both machined details unusual for a fixture of this scale and style, and custom hand-blown tapered glass shades in frosted amber opal.
